{"id":4071,"date":"2022-03-03T15:10:16","date_gmt":"2022-03-03T15:10:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nevlec.com\/?p=4071"},"modified":"2022-09-06T15:11:12","modified_gmt":"2022-09-06T15:11:12","slug":"dear-valued-customers-electricity-conservation-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nevlec.com\/es\/dear-valued-customers-electricity-conservation-tips\/","title":{"rendered":"Dear Valued Customers: Electricity Conservation Tips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Valued Customers,<\/p>\n<p>As you are aware, the price of fuel has been increasing over the last several months and this is likely to continue.<\/p>\n<p>In an effort to minimize the impact on our customers, NEVLEC introduced a cap on the Fuel Surcharge for the months of June, July and August of 2021.<\/p>\n<p>However, in order to pay our fuel suppliers, Nevlec has implemented a moving average approach which resulted in the cost being charged to consumers to offset the rise in fuel prices.<\/p>\n<p>Eventually, the costs to NEVLEC would be recovered at a lower rate when fuel prices start to decrease.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, we are encouraging customers to conserve electricity by practicing the following:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Electricity Conservation Tips<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have your cooling equipment serviced or checked at least once a year.<\/li>\n<li>Be sure that drapes\/blinds are not blocking vents.<\/li>\n<li>Insulate your home with weather-strip around doors and windows to reduce cooling costs.<\/li>\n<li>Seal leaks around wall outlets and switches.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce the water heater thermostat setting and where applicable insulate the water tank to sustain temperature for a longer period.<\/li>\n<li>When using the electric range, plan ahead and cook a number of dishes or meals for later use. Open oven doors only when necessary.<\/li>\n<li>Turn off and unplug appliances when not in use: lights, TVs, computers, microwaves, CD players, etc. \u201cStandby power\u201d usage can account for up to 30 percent of your home electronics energy. Be sure to check the owner\u2019s manual to make sure this won\u2019t impact the memory or performance of the machine.<\/li>\n<li>Iron large amounts of clothing at one time, beginning with low-temperature fabrics.
