The Nevis Electricity Company Limited (NEVLEC) hereby announces the appointment of Mr. Nelson “Ald” Stapleton as General Manager, effective June 1, 2026.

Mr. Stapleton’s appointment underscores the Company’s commitment to leadership development and operational excellence. His distinguished career within the energy sector reflects a strong record of technical competence, professional growth, and dedicated service.

Mr. Stapleton began his career with NEVLEC as a Linesman and Meter Technician, where he developed a comprehensive understanding of the Company’s core operations and infrastructure. His early experience in the field provided valuable insight into the operational requirements essential to maintaining a reliable electricity supply across the island. He subsequently broadened his professional experience at the St. Kitts Electricity Company Limited (SKELEC), where he held several key positions, including Meter Reader Supervisor, Meter Services Engineer, and Construction and Maintenance Engineer. Mr. Stapleton rejoined NEVLEC in 2020, assuming progressively senior roles, including Transmission & Distribution Engineer, Transmission & Distribution Manager, and Acting Chief Engineer. His contributions during this period have been instrumental in strengthening the Company’s technical operations and advancing its strategic objectives.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering and a Master’s degree in Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energies. Mr. Stapleton has also played a significant role in NEVLEC’s involvement in the Nevis Geothermal Project and has participated in several international training programs focused on renewable energy and sustainability.
